The crazy 2020 golf season has finally come to a close. We were able to get the course put to bed before the snow and cold hit us and we thank a group of volunteers and the grounds staff for making that happen. We also appreciate the fact we were the only course in our area open those last six days, allowing members and guests a chance to get that one (or six) last round in before snow fall and the long Covid winter ahead. Kudos to Matt, Colin, Brett and all the grounds staff for their belief in reopening the course into November and for the great, some say best ever, conditions of the golf course in 2020. We were able to take some giant steps in playability this past year and look to continue that trend into 2021. Well done team.
The pro shop has wrapped up sales for the time being and we would like to thank all members and guests for supporting the pro shop this past year. We had a very successful pandemic year from a sales perspective and at this time we would also like to thank all the front and back shop staff for creating a great golf environment that promoted these increased shop sales. We will be opening for Christmas sales Monday-Saturday 10am-4pm from November 23rd to December 22nd. The pro shop will be getting some new merchandise (gloves, balls, range finders etc) in for Christmas and we will also be able to custom order certain clubs for the Christmas season. The golf ball customization deals are happening now as well, check with the pro shop for more info.
With the pandemic hitting us harder in recent weeks, we have closed the banquet facilities for Christmas parties and events with more than 15 people. The clubhouse lounge will open when the golf simulator arrives and we will follow all AHS rules and regulations for being open. At this time we would like to thank all our members and guests for their clubhouse support this past season. The Virus situation created some uncertainty but a huge shout out to Tara Bishop and the serving staff and Chef Wayne and the kitchen staff for keeping us all safe while providing excellent service and consistency throughout the golf season.
We are currently working on the 2021 membership pricing and details. We can confirm that the prices for the Principal Membership, Spousal Memberships, and Young Professional Memberships will stay the same for 2021 golf season. We will be emailing out all the rate sheets in December and look to continue as we have in past years’ our 2021 Membership drive in January of 2021 with payment in full by January 31st. We will keep you updated of any new information, privileges, and early bird rates as we finalize details.
We are pleased to announce we will now be selling Lululemon clothing in our golf shop. We will be carrying a full assortment of Men’s and Ladies Lululemon clothing including Align and Wunder Under tights for ladies and the ABC pant for men. We will be doing weekly orders and will have a wide variety of clothing and accessories on hand so come and check out the golf shop for all your golf and Lululemon Christmas needs.
The Hawk Golf Simulator is on its way. We are currently waiting for a few more back ordered parts but hope to have the Simulator up and running in early December. Once running, we will offer pre-bookings and will be open Tuesday-Sunday from 10am – 9pm. We will have a special menu and bar service available at that time. We are tentatively setting a price of $45/hour for a SIM booking with 2020 and 2021 Desert Blume members being able to book for $35/hour. Ask about our frequent use card and our 10 and 20 hour packages to lower the per hour cost. The golf simulator will feature over 50 golf courses and a driving range for all players to get their golf fix this winter. We will also be doing lessons, club fittings, and will have a few demo days scheduled for later this winter. We will keep you updated as we get more info.
From the ownership group we thank all members and guests for an outstanding 2020 golf season. We feel some important steps were made to improve all areas of the operation, including but not limited to course playability and conditions, a friendlier and more welcoming atmosphere, and consistency in service. We also thank our staff for all their hard work in a sometimes trying situation with the Virus protocols. Finally, we look to build off this past year, and continue to get better and improve in all facets of the golf operation. We already have the best golf course and facility in the area and we are committed to providing the best golf experience for all our members and guests. Stay safe and watch for future updates.
